Lynx Woodworking is a small backyard hobby shop that currently focuses on frames and cutting boards. I offer a selection of premade products as well as custom work. Please contact me with any and all questions you may have by clicking the Contact option from the menu bar.

I started off working with wood at the beginning of Covid. My wife asked me what I thought about getting some chickens and I loved the idea. I decided I’d try to build the chicken coop myself and went out and bought my first small table saw and a miter saw. I continued to buy more tools as I found that I needed them and ended up with quite a few of them.

After I finished the chicken coop I had a bunch of tools and decided it would be silly not to put them to use. My wife came up with some project ideas including floating shelves, coat racks, and some frames for pictures she had printed out. It didn’t take long after making the first round of frames that friends and family started wanting pictures and art framed. I started to produce quite a few of them and found that I really enjoyed the process and challenge of making things out of wood.

My backyard shop has grown quite a bit with more specialized tools and equipment. I am now able to produce things more quickly than ever and have had enough interest that I decided it was time to create a website and share my work with anyone that might be interested.

Why “Lynx”? I’m an avid outdoorsman and have many completed thousands of miles of backpacking trips. I though hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2014. A very popular thing that long distance hikers do is adopt a “trail name”. It’s simply a fun way to meet and greet other hikers, as well as a good conversation starter. My trail name became Lynx. I carried a small plastic lynx figurine on the outside of my backpack. I took pictures of it at important sites along the way, as well as having people I met along the trail hold it for pictures. It has become a bit of a keepsake for me as I can look at it and remember all of the adventures I’ve taken it on and all the people I’ve met along the way.
